
Heybeliada is Istanbul’s biggest namesake after Buyukada. He composed the ones who came to the sandal from the current sanatorium’s pine, and composed the song “We took the mehtaba every night at Heybeli. The island, which was once extracted from the copper mine, was named People, that is, copper, and after resembling a statue, it was named Heydbeliada. It is one of the most popular page destinations in Istanbul. It is famous not only for its nature, fresh air and beauties, but also for its institutions such as bahrizi, sanatorium, seminary (papaz) school.
The width of the island is 2700 meters, the height is 1200 meters. consisting of 4 hills, Heybeliada is located in the middle of Istanbul islands. The highest peak is the Millentepe (136 meters). The other hills are the Quarry Hill, Makarios Hill, and the Hill of Hope. This hill, formerly called Papaz Hill, is 85 meters high and has a Pastor School on it. There are four ports on the island. The Port of Pine and the Port of Bahriye in a beautiful bay are the most important of these.
Important structures of the island, Bahriye School, Aye Ofemya Bayazma, Heybeliada Sanatorium (Foundation: 1924), the first sanatorium of Turkey, Hussein Rahmi Gupinar High School, the famous inhabitants of Heydabiada, Abbas Halim Pasha Mansion, Papaz School, other religious buildings and official buildings. On the island, on two tour paths, one called “Big Tour”, the other called “Small Tour”, tours are made with donkeys and cars in the summer seasons. The Little Tour is also called the Lovers Tour. Heybeliada, like the other islands of Istanbul, is free of motor vehicles. Evliya Celebi notes that there were several Officers in Heydbeliada with a Bostanci chief, and the revenue of the island was given to Captain Pasha.
