Istanbul Iliinde Atasehir County was established to be the center and a municipality with the same name.” Within the framework of urban transformation, large residential centers, shopping, cultural-art, industrial and commercial centers; it is very important in terms of its construction, very modern business centers and sites used as residence are the majority. Especially the Atasehir district, which it took its name from there, has taken the European image of the district with its many modern sites (Agao’lu My World-Kent Plus etc.). In addition, with the opening of the Kucukkalkoy neighborhood, where our Government House is also within the borders, it has started to change its shell by stripping the old image of the neighborhood. The district is close to the E-5 Highway and provides transportation facilities to our citizens in a big city such as Istanbul.
Historical and Geographic Structure
The History of Atasehir District dates back even from Istanbul. The first human settlements around Istanbul emerged only between 5000-3000 BC, while the first hand axes of the stone age were found in Icerenkoy. This region was under the rule of Eren Baba and Ali Gazi.After 1465 the region was named Erenkoy, Tapuya.After 1639, when the water of the belt was brought to the Erenkoy with the bows , Karaman Farm and the people of Tekkebag migrated to Erenkoy. In 164, Shipana Kahya Mustafa Aga built the mosque.In 1860 Kadikoy became one of the seven neighborhoods of the region.In 1872 the west of the region was built train road and station, Hat commander, The name Erenkoy was given to its current place by the suggestion of Transportation Captain Ali Nehin. The Icerenkoy Mosque (Mehmet Sergeant Mosque) was first built in 1665 and then rebuilt in 1924’. Since the original Erenkoy remained in the interior and some of the Erens settled inside, the district took this name and became our neighborhood.
