
The first name of Samandir in history was Demeter. Demeter is the goddess of agriculture and fertility in Greek Mythology, and she teaches people to team up the land. The calf is such a perfect and insatiable wonder of the earth that people have not been able to express its beauty by the name of the goddess Demeter, the form and ideal of this beauty. Samandra was also a talisman place for hunting with its wild animal variety. This feature would later make it one of the most popular page areas of the Byzantine emperors.
